im thinking of a number. if i add this number to its reciprocal, i get 2. what is the number?

the only number it can be is 1 as 1 + [tex]\frac{1}{1}[/tex] ( the reciprocal of 1 )

thus 1 + [tex]\frac{1}{1}[/tex] = 2
