Why is oxygen not the most abundant gas in the atmosphere even if it is the most essential gas for life?

Due to every other gas being very abundant, such as Hydrogen which is one of the most abundant gases. Though Oxygen is the most essential, we also create Carbon Dioxide as well which creates even more gas other than Oxygen. There’s not really a good explanation other than every other natural and unnatural gas having a larger amount.
