Is 12r - 5 the same as -5 + 12r

I'm so tried plz help-

Answer:

Yes there are same because

Let r=1

then

12r-5 = ( 12*1)-5 = 12 -5 = 7

but

-5 + 12r = -5 + (12*1) = -5 + 12 =7
