=> y = -2 -------(i)

y = -2x + 7

=> -2 = -2x + 7 [From (i)]

=> -2 -7 = -2x

=> -9 = -2x

=> -9/-2 = x

=> 9/2 = x

So, x = 9/2 and y = -2
